Hello!

 

My name is Karen Tong Messineo and I, along with my husband, Todd Messineo are dōTERRA® Essential Oils Wellness Advocates. I began using essential oils in 2016 and my husband soon followed suit. We both provide personalized care and guidance on how to use essential oils safely and effectively. In addition, We are both also Aromatouch® Technique Certified which involves an essential oil application along the spine focusing on Stress Management, Immune System Support, Healthy Inflammatory Response and restoring (ANS) Autonomic Nervous System Imbalance.

 

I grew up in Metro Detroit in a household that held traditional Chinese values in high regard. However, as the rebel of the family I wanted to go my own route, a route that didn't necessarily prescribe to the expectations of my household. With that, I spent the next 35 years of my life working in the healthcare industry learning the in's and out's of western medical practice. I held positions both in the clinical and administrative fields of Optometry, Ophthalmology and in Gastroenterology.

 

However, my roots being Chinese I was constantly exposed to eastern means of medicine that in my younger years I had pushed away. Until there was a sickness in the family that changed my life and that helped me to realize there is not one pathway to a healthier life. Rather, by combining my western medicine knowledge with holistic medicine you can work towards that healthier life by combining the two - a true east meets west approach and one that my husband witnessed and appreciates the workings of the two coming together.

 

Todd, my husband grew up in East China Township in a traditional blue collar home filled with a ton of love and comfort of small town family life. Simple and wholesome to say the least. He has 28 years of service with the Detroit Police Department.
